Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate (≥99.0%, evaporation rate ~0.2 vs. n-butyl acetate) is prized as a coalescing agent for latex and water-based paints. It is widely used in metal and furniture spray coatings, printing inks, cleaners and nitrocellulose / acrylic coatings. Its mild sweet odor and excellent resin solubility make it a formulator favorite.
